Bacchus Quartet

While the god Bacchus (Dionysus for the ancient Greeks) sends us the image of wine and the vine, he is much more than that… He is the banquet, the life force, the sap, the fire, tragedy, theatre, intoxication, ecstasy…
The Bacchus Quartet is the meeting of four musicians (Audrey Luzignant, Sebastien Guedj, Sebastien Creppe, Joanie Carlier) who, beyond sharing friendship and love, enjoy exploring the interplay of their diverse musical sensibilities through a hybrid and uninhibited project. In an atypical ensemble (an oboe, two bassoons, and a baritone saxophone), they playfully blend influences spanning the history of music, from classical to jazz to pop. The Bacchus Quartet is, in a way, a tasting experience where fine wines, "friends' wines," discoveries, regional wines, "last-minute finds," and sometimes even a local Trappist beer mingle. Cheers!
